FUTURO Editions: A Throwback
In the first edition of FUTURO back in 2015, we enjoyed the inspiring lectures and stories of Michael Defeo, Igor-Alban Chavalier, Pierre Alary and Victor Kalvachev.
Michael Defeo - a skillful sculptor who specialized in giving 2D characters fully-fledged 3D looks. Michael was the head of the modeling and sculpting studios at Blue Sky Studios where he worked on characters from Ice Age, Rio, Robots, Horton Hears a Who, and Epic. Supported by Illumination Entertainment, the famous sculptor worked also on Despicable Me 2, The Lorax, The Secret Life of Pets, Minions, and even more characters.
Igor-Alban Chavalier has worked on famous productions such as X-Men, Harry Potter, The Flintstones, Brotherhood Of The Wolf, contributing to these productions with amazing designs, storyboards, and illustrations. Igor has worked for famous brands in the video game industry and has also provided work for global giants like Disney, Marvel, Warner Bros, and DreamWorks.
Meeting such inspiring lecturers in the first edition of the event sparked a huge interest and turned the festival into a tradition.
On the next year, the event was marked with the participation of Igor-Alban Chavalier, Darek Zabrocki, Alfonso de la Torre, Leo Haslam, Nikola Matkovic and many more motivational talents.
The experienced lecturers shared their knowledge gained over the years and valuable advice on how to enter the entertainment industry. The topics covered many artistic fields such as concept art and 3D printing, accompanied by humour and fun.
For the third edition of the festival, we invited the world-known artist Jean-Baptiste Monge, a French illustrator, character designer, and visual developments artist
Jean-Baptiste‘s clients are Walt Disney, Sony Pictures Animation, Digital Domain, Blizzard Entertainment, etc. Along with him, other big names in the industry shared their inspiring stories and motivational advice - Darek Zabrocki, Michal Kus, Mathias Zamecki, Aris Kolokontes, Eddie Bennun, Darko Markovic, Stefan Atanasov.
Many of these artists are role models for the young talents. Seeing these world-known names live and being able to ask questions and interact with their art was certainly a life-changing experience for many visitors of the event. The lecturers shared their struggles and tips on the path to success, demonstrated their skills and practical knowledge on how to succeed.
The festival was spiced up by great parties on the beach where everyone could talk, get friendly, and have plenty of fun in a friendly leisure atmosphere. FUTURO is certainly a festival to remember for everyone who visits. An event to receive knowledge and a chance to change your life forever.
